At WeatherBlaze, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using WeatherBlaze, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
WeatherBlaze is a read-only data platform. We do not require registration or login. The information we may collect includes:
- Usage data: Pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, and navigation paths — collected through analytics tools.
- Device & browser data: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and device type.
- IP address: Used to determine approximate geographic region (country/city level) for analytics purposes.
- Cookies: Small files stored on your device to remember preferences and enable analytics. See Section 4 below.
2. How We Use Your Data
The information we collect is used solely to improve the WeatherBlaze experience:
- Understanding which countries, regions, and cities are most frequently visited
- Diagnosing technical issues and improving site performance
- Measuring the effectiveness of content and features
- Complying with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do display advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Where you have given consent, those ads may be personalised; where you have not, you will still see ads, but non-personalised ones. See Sections 3 and 4.
3. Third-Party Services
We may use the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics 4: For website traffic analysis and usage statistics.
- Microsoft Clarity: For understanding how pages are used. Clarity records a playback of your visit — mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and the pages you view — and produces aggregate heatmaps. It is loaded only where you have consented to it, and never before you have answered the consent message. Clarity automatically masks text input fields; we do not use it to collect anything you type.
- Google AdSense: For displaying advertising, and for the consent message shown to visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland.
- Cloudflare: For website hosting, content delivery and performance. Server-level access logs may be retained for a limited period.
4. Cookies
WeatherBlaze uses cookies to:
- Analytics cookies: Track aggregate usage data (Google Analytics 4).
- Session-recording cookies: Allow Microsoft Clarity to reconstruct how a visit progressed.
- Advertising cookies: Allow Google AdSense to measure ad performance and, with consent, personalise the ads shown.
- Functional cookies: Remember user preferences such as unit settings (°C / °F). These are stored on your device and are required for the site to work as you have set it up.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a consent message is shown before any analytics, session-recording or advertising cookie is set. Until you answer it, Google Analytics runs without cookies and without identifying you, Microsoft Clarity is not loaded at all, and no personalised advertising is served. If you decline, that remains the case: Clarity is never loaded, no analytics or advertising cookie is stored, and you see only non-personalised ads.
Changing your mind. You can reopen the consent message at any time using the privacy settings link provided by the message itself, and change or withdraw your choice. Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately for future page loads.
You can also control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some functionality, such as saved preferences.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights including:
- The right to access the data we hold about you
- The right to request deletion of your data
- The right to opt out of analytics tracking (e.g., via browser settings or opt-out tools)
- The right to withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on your consent — see Section 4. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.
- The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Since WeatherBlaze does not collect personal accounts or identifiable user profiles, most requests will relate to cookies and analytics data.
6. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained in aggregate, anonymised form as long as it is useful for improving the service. Server access logs are retained for a short period as required by our hosting provider for security and diagnostic purposes.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of WeatherBlaze after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
